CEO Introduction

As an ardent runner and avid snowboarder, Steve Jongsun Lee has traveled to over fifty countries, many of which are in Africa, namely Ethiopia, Tanzania, South Africa, Angola, Zambia, Senegal, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Nigeria, Côte d'Ivoire, Mali, Burkina Faso etc. He made his first visit to Africa in 1996 when he joined the Peace Keeping Operations of the United Nations in Angola as a member of an Engineering Battalion stationed in the city of Huambo.

Blue Fountain was founded in 2016 by Steve together with his founding members with the vision of improving market efficiency between Africa and Asia by overcoming the asymmetry of information, technology and finance that exists between the two.

Prior to starting Blue Fountain, Steve worked as the Strategy and Marketing Director at Lafarge Korea. Before that, he was a management consultant for 10 years at Boston Consulting Group, Booz Allen Hamilton and Accenture. He earned a B. S. in Business Administration from Yonsei University in Seoul, and an M.B.A from INSEAD in Singapore and France.

When not traveling, he spends half of his time in Accra and another half in Seoul managing businesses and investments in both cities. 

He rarely lives 2 months in a same city!
